Sun damage, large pores, fine lines, scars, wrinkles, dark spots. If you’re struggling with one or more of these issues, you may want to consider a new laser treatment that uses a new approach to take care of of it all, giving you glowing and radiant skin.
“HALO treatment is appropriate for everyone and anyone who cares about feeling and looking healthy,” says Dr. Lady Dy. “Whether your goal is to reverse and improve aging skin or to simply maintain a radiant youthful look, HALO can help accomplish those goals!”
The Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser is the first and only laser of its kind. Unlike traditional laser treatments, this laser uses cutting edge technology to deliver great results with a faster recovery time. The Halo™ laser can treat a variety of skin concerns ranging from mild to severe, providing deep dermal rejuvenation and epidermal renewal.
What is Halo™ and how does it work?
The Halo™ Fractional Laser gives a total skin rejuvenation treatment, offering dramatic changes in overall tone, texture discoloration, lines, pore size and glow. Halo™ uses dual lasers to give benefits of both ablative and non-ablative results.
Ablative lasers deliver dramatic and long-lasting results, but comes with a longer recovery period. Using ablative lasers can also come with potential side effects, such as redness, swelling, infection or pigmentation changes. Non-ablative lasers are less invasive and generally don’t deliver fast and dramatic results in the way ablative lasers do. When going this route you have a faster recovery but need multiple treatments to see results.
Halo™ is the first hybrid laser that delivers both ablative and non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing treatments simultaneously. It combines two laser wavelengths that can specifically target both a surface issue, like a sun spot, or a deeper issue, like a wrinkle.
What should I expect when getting Halo™ treatments?
Before you get started with your Halo™ treatments, your dermatologist will apply a topical anesthetic to your skin to ensure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure.
Most patients experience a slight warming sensation during treatment with very little, if any, discomfort. During the procedure the Halo™ laser’s integrated cooling system cools the skin, making the procedure much more comfortable. The Halo™ applicator constantly monitors the temperature of the skin to ensure safe and accurate treatment.
The treated area will be pink for the first 24 to 36 hours after the procedure, and it may even begin to slightly peel. Two to three days after treatment, the skin will appear “bronzed” and begin to shed in little flakes. This shedding phase usually lasts about five to six days after treatment, revealing new and fresh skin beneath. For the first 24 hours after treatment, your skin should be kept protected and soothed. After the first day, you can resume your regular routine and even apply makeup.
How many treatments will I need to see results?
The number of treatments you need will depend on the amount of damage you have, how much you are looking to improve your skin and how aggressive your treatment plan is. Someone with mild sun damage may need one treatment, while someone with more advanced damage and signs of aging may need three to four treatments.
When will I notice the results?
Most patients see results five to seven days after a Halo™ treatment, and notice improvement of skin pigment in the first two to three weeks. Over time, your skin will regenerate collagen in the deeper layers of your skin. This phase continues for several months after treatment, showing more improvement in your skin each day.
