Face, Neck, Hand & Other Body Treatments

Looking Fresh & Rejuvenated

Our facial structure is supported by a healthy bone structure and fat pads. As we age, we lose facial fat pads and bone density so the facial support structure weakens and skin begins to sag. You start to notice the eyelids becoming droopy and the eyebrows lower. Cheeks become hollow while jowls start to form and the skin under the chin starts to loosen. The hands begin to show signs of aging by developing prominent linear tendons on the top side of the hands and brown spots begin to appear along with developing a crepey skin surface. As we explore ways to reverse the aging process, we need to avoid excessive sun exposure and stressful lifestyle as these factors can intensify the appearance of aging skin.

In order to recapture our youth, we need to correct the damage upon the skin and reconstruct the youthful elements lost with time. In order to do this, Dr. Dy uses a variety of different agents and techniques, depending on the individual, to accomplish these goals. This often includes the combination use of neuromodulators, injectable fillers, laser and skin tightening devices, thread lifts, chemical peels, and percutaneous collagen induction techniques known as (“microneedling”).

In those cases where facial contour changes have occurred due to the loss of fat pads and decreased bone density, fillers can be strategically injected into specific anatomic sites of the face to replace the volume lost, resulting in a lifted yet natural rejuvenated appearance with minimal downtime and mild discomfort. Dr. Dy utilizes various fillers such as the Restylane and Juvederm family of fillers, Radiesse and Sculptra to address the volume loss. Reversing aged hands involves using light based lasers to remove the brown blemishes on the skin but also injecting fillers to reduce the appearance of the tendons. She performs skin boosting technique with hyaluronic acid based fillers to improve the crepey skin texture.

To diminish facial lines or wrinkles, Dr. Dy carefully places the neuromuscular modulators such as Botox and Dysport to specific points of the facial muscles to relax the muscles. These injections are almost painless with minimal to no downtime.

Dr. Dy uses PDO Thread Lift to instantly lift and tighten the loose skin around the face and neck. This is a minimally invasive procedure that gently repositions the skin to reverse facial drooping. She also uses threads to improve the skin turgor by stimulating collagen and elastic fiber production. For some, this procedure can be used as a transition or as a substitute for a surgical face lift.

Another way to tighten the skin includes the use of Ultherapy. This involves a FDA approved ultrasound based device for tightening the skin around the delicate eye areas, lower face, neck and chest. It can also tighten the skin on the upper arms, knees and buttocks. This is completed as a single procedure with periodic maintenance and has no downtime.

Part of looking youthful includes eliminating undesirable fat deposits on the body including under the chin area, known as “a double chin”. Fat under the chin can be permanently removed by injecting Kybella, a substance that dissolves fat. Sometimes fat continues to accumulate on specific areas of the body despite good dietary and lifestyle habits. Dr. Dy can help contour your body by using Sculpsure, the world’s first FDA-cleared, non-invasive method to safely break down the fat with no surgery or downtime.

Other rejuvenating techniques include laser resurfacing, microneedling, serial chemical peels and hydrafacials. Hydrafacial is a medical grade advanced “hydradermabrasion” technique that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and infusion of the skin with carefully selected medical grade ingredients that renew and revitalize the skin’s appearance to create an instantly gratifying glow. Chemical peels improve the texture of the skin and normalize the color of the skin primarily through exfoliation. Age spots, dark patches (melasma), and discoloration from acne are greatly improved. Fine lines are smoothed and dull skin is replaced by a healthy radiant glow. Patients with difficult to treat acne also benefit from peels as the peels can reduce breakouts and clogged pores. Percutaneous collagen induction with the use of SKINPEN or VIVACE (microneedling with radiofrequency) are suitable for the improvement of scars, wrinkle correction, skin firming, reducing pore size and for improving the general appearance of the skin.

At Dy Dermatology Center, we develop individual treatment plans to meet your specific needs to achieve natural, rejuvenating and long lasting effects on the skin. Dr Dy’s key goals are to achieve balance, harmony and youthfulness while preserving a natural appearance.
