Dy Dermatology Alma TED Treatment

Dy Dermatology Center is now offering a revolutionary, non-invasive hair treatment for men and women; Alma TED.   Dr. Dy, and our staff, understand that hair loss is often a traumatic experience.  Individuals may be hyper-conscious of their hair thinning and shedding, and anxious to regain their fuller head of hair.

The American Hair Loss Association estimated that more than 80 million men and women are suffering from hair loss concerns in the U.S., with a shocking 400 percent increase in patient demand for treatment options since the pandemic. Hair loss is an emotional situation and can lead to feelings of inadequacy or stress.

The TED treatment is a powerful solution, changing the game of hair loss and drawing attention for its incredible results.

Dy Dermatology Center helps more than 400 clients each month with hair loss issues, and our experienced team is ready to boost your confidence with painless hair restoration thanks to our TED procedure.

What is the TED treatment for hair growth?

TED is an innovative procedure that uses acoustic sound waves and air pressure to drive hair signal molecules past our protective layer of skin down to the dermis, providing needle-free and pain-free hair restoration (no surgery needed!). TED stands for transepidermal drug delivery. We use the TED hair formula that contains ingredients supporting optimal hair, scalp health, and follicular strength, providing the best possible results.

How does TED work?

Alma TED works by using acoustic sound waves and air pressure to drive active components, in this case, hair growth factors deeper in the skin for higher absorption. The acoustic sound waves create gaseous bubbles within the stratum corneum that expand the lipid bilayer allowing for medications to absorb. The air pressure creates a push and pull effect that drives the active compounds even further.

With TED, instead of creating channels with needles or laser energy, we create temporary pathways that allow the hair molecule signals to penetrate the skin, reaching the hair bulbs to stimulate and enhance hair growth.

How does it differ from PRP?

They are completely different! TED is NEEDLE FREE free and PAIN FREE.  PRP utilizes a needle to draw the blood and inject the plasma harvested from the blood into the scalp.

What should I expect during and after my TED treatment?

TED is a 100% NEEDLE FREE , and PAIN FREE.  Your scalp will feel warm as you sense a mild buzzing sensation, and your hair will be slightly damp at the end of the approximately 30-minute procedure. Many of our patients find the treatment soothing and enjoyable, which is a huge breakthrough in this treatment category. There’s no downtime, so you can resume your normal daily activities right after the procedure. The only requirement is that you come in with a clean scalp.

Who is the right candidate for the TED hair treatment?

Since the TED treatment nourishes the follicles and the scalp, the treatment is appropriate for anyone experiencing hair loss or hair shedding, as well as anyone who wants to maintain healthy looking hair. It’s particularly helpful for those with genetic/hereditary hair thinning or stress induced hair shedding from post-delivery, a recent surgery, or an illness such as COVID.

Is the TED procedure safe?

Yes, it is safe for everyone.

When do you see results and how often do you have to do it?

Although you may notice improvement with just one treatment, results are typically seen after three monthly treatments, which is recommended for best results. The improvements seen range from decreased shedding, increased hair growth, improved hair quality and texture, and overall better-looking hair and scalp. After the initial round of treatment, you’ll need to maintain the results by continuing with “maintenance treatments” as directed by Dr. Dy.

Where can TED be used?

Alma TED can be used throughout the scalp. We can also use it on the eyebrows or the beard area. We can also combine TED with our other hair growth laser or scalp microneedling treatments and exosome treatments to further enhance hair growth.

What other conditions does TED treat?

TED treats a variety of non-scarring alopecia. It treats male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness, otherwise known as hereditary hair thinning or androgenetic alopecia. Androgenetic alopecia affects males as early in their late teens to 20s, and affects females later in life, and can be due to hormone dysfunction or stress. In hereditary hair thinning, higher levels of 5-alpha-reductase in the body converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, which causes the hair follicles to become weak and fall. In addition to utilizing the TED+ treatment, Dr. Dy will customize a treatment approach for you that will maximize your benefits in combating hair thinning.
